Spring Break 2010
Dr. Hodous learned years ago that in a college town, everyone clears out for Spring Break, so he and his family always take a trip. This year they visited Arizona and got to experience many climates and numerous locations! Here are just a few photos of his trip!
Skiing in Flagstaff, Arizona at SnowBowl. It was his youngest son’s first time ever and he loved snowboarding!
The Grand Canyon: A nice day hike this time of year.
Monument Valley, Arizona where John Wayne made lots of his Westerns! This is where Dr. Hodous and his wife, Kim, met while she was teaching on the Navajo Reservation and Dr. Hodous was practicing in the Public Health Service Corps.
Dr. Hodous taking a quiet moment in the sun to recharge his batteries so he can come back and deliver the best dentistry ever!!
Dental Health Month 2010
February is Dental Health Month and a month that our office looks forward to each year! It’s a time for us to get out in our community and have fun with the local schools. This year, we visited the kindergarten and first grade classes at Root Elementary. While it is our focus to teach the kids the importance of brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist, we love to have fun. Dr. Hodous brought along his special guests of honor, The Tooth Fairy and Molly the Molar. It is always great to see the kid’s eyes light up when they walk in. We hope the kids enjoyed our visit as much as we did!

Halloween Candy
With Halloween quickly approaching, have you ever wondered which candy is the worst for your child’s teeth?
Some of the popular candies that are most children’s favorites are extremely acidic and are comparable to the levels of battery acid. These candies are harmful as they are not just gulped down, but chewed or sucked
on for quite some time. This means the mouth becomes more acidic and the teeth are susceptible to damage. Repeated exposure and frequency, the sour candy can also lead to a number of oral health problems, including increased cavities, tooth sensitivity, staining, and loss of shine.
Some of the popular candies that are causing these problems are Starburst, Sour Skittles, Laffy Taffy, and Bubble Tape. Beware of the label “sour or tart” on candies. Make sure your child rinses their mouth out with water after consuming the candy. Do not brush immediately after having sour candy, its acidic nature would soften the tooth enamel and brushing would abrade the enamel.
Just a few tips to keep in mind for this Halloween!
Northwest Arkansas Green Expo 2009

Our office loves to be involved in the community. This is a picture of our team participating as a sponsor at The Living It Green Expo.

The music was great at the Expo, and we got to mingle with some of the musicians. This is Dr. Hodous’s staff and a young local artist, Nathan Aronowitz, who has been facinated by the Blues since he was 6 years old.
Summer Vacation

This is a spot on the coast of Maine that Dr. Hodous and his family have gone every year for the past 22 years. It’s where he recharges his batteries!
